Blog Post 8

The Web Design Assignment introduced me to new skills that I had never used before regarding technology. I learned how to use different settings, be more efficient with technology, be creative, and how to communicate information through a website as a teacher. I used design principles such as Contrast and Alignment. I used contrast when selecting colors of the font and background, making the text on the website more eligible. The alignment I used while designing helped keep the information organized and easier to read. In the future, I could use website design to keep people in my community informed and involved; not only for teaching but for ministry and non profit organizations. 



 QR codes are an effective tool that can make communication more efficient in the classroom. I would want to limit my use of technology in the classroom but also would want to utilize this as a resource. A creative way I could implement QR codes in the classroom could be during open house or parent nights when I'd like feedback or information via survey. I could also use them to have quick access to games and resources for my students to play as part of a rewards system.

I would address this case by promoting the fact that ChatGPT can develop visual aids and assist students with different learning challenges. It also is an efficient way to plan a lesson in a short amount of time. I believe that in some ways Chat GPT can provide ethical solutions, but on the other hand teachers are responsible to ultimately have a full understanding of their plan and the motive behind each step- which can be a challenge while using AI. Overall I have a "love-hate" relationship with Generative AI and believe that it should be used in moderation to keep learning engaging and effective.

    I really like how simple but informative your website is. The quotes and pictures are a great addition. You used contrast well by having the white background with the black letters. Repetition was used when you had little paragraphs at the top of each different page with a little explanation. You used alignment well by having everything centered on the page below the titles. Proximity was used well because you had everything organized well.

    Hi Emily! I like the layout of your website a lot and I also love how you added an inspiring quote in most of the pages! The fonts seem consistent throughout your site and the contrast well with the white background. You've done a good job at alignment and proximity, as all the info seems to be under the right section and everything is aligned well.

Teacher pages on school websites can be a practical way for parents to receive information about their child's teacher. The information seen on a teacher page can include a the teacher's educational background and contact information. They can also provide information about what their child is learning. After viewing a few teacher pages from Chiles High School, and I found a lot of background information about the different teachers.  I envision myself using technology minimally but also as an effective tool when necessary.  Throughout my K-12 education, my experience with distance learning is limited. I attended public schools, so most of my learning was done in a classroom with instruction happening at the same time. However, during my sophomore year of high school I took an online French class on FLVS. This required me to learn at my own pace using videos, independent research, and scheduling calls with my instructor in order to be tested. For me personal, this was not the most effective way to learn as I wasn't being held accountable as I would've been had I been in a classroom with an in person instructor.  Open Educational Resources are learning resources that are easily accessible for students and teachers.  The Florida Standard on the CPALMS website include multiple different standard regarding technology. One standard that I found was G.K12.5.3.3a which states: "Know: Identify appropriate technology to achieve a project goal." In other words, students from grades K-12 should be able to use technological resources to reach a learning goal. Based off of my current skill set, I feel confident that I would be able to teach standard technology skills for younger students. For the older students I would need to grow in my knowledge a little more.  Another standard I selected from the CPALMS website was MU.5.C.2.1. This is for teaching music to 5th grade students. Next to the standards are multiple tools and resources a teacher can use to help reach this learning objective.
